Support from the Avon Foundation
Gifts from the Avon Foundation have enabled The Jewish Hospital to continue to improve our mammography services and community education for the uninsured and underinsured women in Greater Cincinnati, as well as provide convenient screening services for the busy women of today.
In 2003, the Avon Foundation gift allowed our Mobile Mammography Program to purchase a fully equipped mobile mammography unit, add a patient navigator position to our staff and provide $10,000 worth of screening mammograms for the indigent.
In 2004, the Avon Foundation’s gift of $100,000 allowed us to continue providing screening services for the uninsured and underinsured women of the community while allowing us to enhance our services with diagnostic mammography and needed follow-up care.
In 2005, the Avon Foundation’s gift of $150,000 allowed us to continue our patient navigator service, expand our community outreach education and offer transportation services for the indigent and/or elderly women who might otherwise go without their needed mammography procedures.
The strides the Avon Foundation has made to increase awareness of breast cancer and the money that has been raised to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention, literally saves lives. To learn more about the Avon Foundation, go to www.avonfoundation.org
