Preparing For Joint Replacement Surgery
Making your joint replacement a success, before surgery begins
We understand how important it is to take care of all of the details, and much of that starts before you even have surgery. You’ll visit the Joint Replacement Center before your surgery date so that we can work together to make sure your new joint is a success.
The team educates you on what to expect before, during and after surgery. This process starts before your surgery, in pre-admission testing, when you will meet with representatives from anesthesia, physical and occupational therapy, and nursing to discuss your concerns and begin planning for your discharge from the hospital after surgery.
After your surgery, members of the Joint Replacement Center team will visit you to make sure your discharge plan is in place and everything is going smoothly.
While you’re in the hospital, you may also be taken care of by one of our hospitalists if your primary care doctor doesn’t make visits in the hospital. The hospitalists are specially trained physicians who care for patients while they are in the hospital and make sure any medical issues are taken care of.
Because we perform so many joint replacements every year, our team is very experienced. And that experience means better care for you. But you’ll never be “just a number” to us; every patient is cared for compassionately and as an individual.
